Tom is one of the most decorated basketball players in the program’s history. A four-year player, he scored 1,040 points and grabbed 1,144 rebounds. In 1966, he became just the fourth player in team history to join the 1,000-point club.

Tom had back-to-back 400-plus rebound seasons during his junior and senior campaigns while being named a two-time All-SUNYAC center. In that 1965-66 season, he averaged 18.5 points in just 20 games.

With those recognitions in place, Tom earned an NAIA All-America selection. Outside of basketball, Tom enjoyed more time in the spotlight. He composed music, performed at concerts and even hosted a television series. Tom also helped those less fortunate, particularly those people who were hungry.
