Where are they now:

Dan is a Barrie Police Officer and holds the rank of a Senior Detective and works in the Crime Unit. He has been working there for 27 years since retiring from pro hockey in Europe in 1998. He resides in Barrie, Ontario.

Dan has an amazing supportive life partner, Sheri Norman, who is his best friend and the love of his life, and they have two sons: Josh Schaly, who is 21 years old, and is following in his footsteps to become a Police Officer, and Jace Schaly, who is 18 years old, and is planning to take on a plumbing trade and one day open his own successful business. Jace also plays Junior Hockey for the Orillia Terriers on top of attending school.

Dan lists three personal accomplishments: first, naming “winning a National Championship in 1992 at Plattsburgh State, with my teammates,” then “being selected into the Plattsburgh State Hall of Fame,” and finally “being able to coach both my sons, Josh and Jace, through all their minor hockey careers.”

Favorite Plattsburgh State Sports Moment:

“My Two Favorite Plattsburgh State moments: As a freshman, making it all the way to the National Championship Finals vs Wisconsin-Stevens Point, only to lose in an overtime mini game. Having a second opportunity and winning a National Championship in 1992 vs. Wisconsin-Stevens Point hosted by Plattsburgh State with ALL my teammates who are now lifelong friends.”
