David Mayer qualified three times for the NCAA Golf Championships in 1968 and ‘70-71 and the 1967 Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships. 

He led the team with an 83.1 stroke average during his sophomore year.  He helped the Cardinals capture back-to-back NAIA District 31 titles in 1970-71 and the 1971 State University of New York Athletic Conference championship.  As a junior, he was the co-medalist of NAIA District 31 when the team won its first district crown.  He was a three-time team MVP and captain in 1970.
