A rare three-sport collegiate student-athlete, Robert M. Garrow was an accomplished baseball, basketball and soccer player. At the end of his collegiate baseball career in 1951, he was the pitching leader in single-game strikeouts (14), single-season complete games (5) and single-season shutouts (2). Garrow also graduated with 12 career complete games and a .615 winning percentage.

During the winter, Garrow reached success on the basketball court. In the 1951-52 season, he was the first member of the exclusive 1,000-point club. His best season came in 1950-51 when he dropped 319 points. Garrow also played three seasons of soccer from 1949 to 1951.

Where are they now?
After graduating, Garrow signed a professional baseball contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Following his stint in pro baseball, Garrow continued contributing to Plattsburgh State and the community at-large. He founded the Cardinal Booster Club and served as an educator and educational administrator in the area.

Garrow is also a member of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Hall of Fame and a recipient of the Irving Schwartz Award from the New York State Athletic Administrators Association. In 2009, he wrote, The Only Game in Town: A Century of North Country Town Team Baseball, 1860-1960.
