Hall of Fame
Whitman played his career to the fullest. He was a three-time All-SUNYAC selection and a two-time All-Region honoree. During the 1992 season, Whitman earned SUNYAC Player of the Year and Plattsburgh State Athlete of the Year.
That season, he scored 12 goals with five assists in 19 games as the Cardinals went 16-1-4 overall and 9-0-1 in conference play. Whitman finished his career with 50 goals, 24 assists and 124 points in 79 games. During his four seasons, Plattsburgh State compiled a 57-12-10 record with six of those losses coming in Whitman’s freshman year. At the time of his induction, he was second all-time in goals and points.
