A key defenseman on several talented Cardinal men’s ice hockey teams, Martin Beliveau helped Plattsburgh State win a SUNYAC title and advance to the NCAA Division III national championship game his sophomore season in 1989-90.
An All-America and All-SUNYAC selection in 1990-91, the Boucherville, Quebec, native earned the respect of his peers and College officials, earning a spot on the program’s 1985-94 All-Decade Team. Throughout the storied history of the program, Martin remains one of the top student-athletes to ever patrol the blue line.
During the course of his three-year career, Martin took to the ice in 85 games, recording 19 goals and 67 assists for 86 points.

Where is he now:
Martin currently works as a sales representative for Techo-Bloc, a fast-growing company in the hardscape and masonry industry. Prior to his sales position, Martin worked as a golf professional for 16 years at a private country club. He lives in Boucherville, Quebec, and is the proud father to a 10-year-old girl, Erika.
Martin cites his proudest accomplishment as being a father, stating that “nothing fulfills me more than fatherhood.” Professionally, he is proud of his 16-year career as the head golf professional at one of the premiere golf courses in Quebec.
Favorite Plattsburgh State Sports Moment:
“My favorite Plattsburgh State sports moment is our run for the Championships in 1990, beating Elmira and Babson on our way to the National Championship finals against Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Winning the 1991 Cardinals Classic my senior year is also a memory I cherish.”
