Hall of Fame
An offensive-minded blueliner, Rick Young joined forces with future Hall of Famers Pierre Brunet, Gaetan D'Anjou and Doug Kimura to form one of the more memorable quartets ever put on ice by the Plattsburgh State men's ice hockey team. Through the course of his four-year career, which spanned from 1978-82, Rick totaled 133 points which is the second-highest figure ever by any Cardinal defenseman. One of six individuals who was selected to comprise the Cardinals' 1975-84 All-Decade Team, Rick was a three-time All-SUNYAC performer and carved out a spot for himself as an ECAC West Second Team All-Star in the 1980-81 campaign and helped lead the Cardinals to a pair of NCAA Division II Final Fours.
