Hall of Fame
A two-time All-American and a two-time team captain, Kimura anchored the blue line as a defenseman for the Cardinals from 1977 to 1981. During that time, he scored 34 goals with 102 assists. His 136 career points rank first among Plattsburgh State defensemen.
Kimura began collecting accolades even as a freshman by earning the 1977 New York Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Year award. That same season, Kimura was selected to the first of four-straight All-SUNYAC teams. As a sophomore, he became the first Cardinal in any sport to attain All-American status. Kimura was named to the program’s first All-Decade Team.
A successful player on a successful team, Plattsburgh State won four conference championships during Kimura’s career, including a runner-up performance in the 1981 NCAA National Championship tournament. The Cardinals also won three consecutive Eastern Collegiate Hockey Association Division II West championships during this time.

Where are they now?
After graduating from Plattsburgh State, Kimura worked as a communications analyst for Royal Bank of Canada. He also coached three years of hockey at Dawson College while contributing at hockey charity events.
