Jaime Retersdorf starred as a forward on the Plattsburgh State women’s soccer team for four years, helping the Cardinals win their first SUNYAC title in program history during her senior season in 1998.
She earned both National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Third-Team All-Region and All-NYSWCAA honors in 1997 in addition to being a three-time All-SUNYAC honoree, earning First-Team laurels in 1997 and 1998 and Honorable Mention recognition in 1996.
For her career, Jaime achieved 65 points on 29 goals and seven assists, and she netted 14 game-winning goals.

Where is she now:
Jaime runs her own business as a massage therapist. She focuses on helping people rehabilitate injuries and to feel better in their daily movements. Massage therapy is a combination of mental health therapy and physical therapy, and “I love both parts,” Jaime said. She loves learning how the body works, and she gets to continue learning in improving her work with her clients. Everyone has unique needs, and it is a challenge to find what will help each client.
She returned to her roots and lives in Mayfield, N.Y., and works in her hometown of Gloversville N.Y. In terms of family, she has “adorable nieces, nephews and godchildren I love to dote on!”
“It took me a bit of time to find my passion, which is helping people with physical ailments feel better,” Jaime said. “I’m proud to have found it and that so many people have expressed that their lives are better because of our work together. My job also gives me the time to coach girls’ high school soccer with my younger brother, and I love fostering a love of soccer in the next generation of players. Soccer is so much more than just about the sport; it’s about teamwork and determination and self confidence, and I love instilling that in others.”
Favorite Plattsburgh State Sports Moment:
“I don’t have one single experience, but rather, my favorite moment was developing the friendships with my teammates that still last to this day. I made my best friends on the team, and I am so proud to say they’ve stayed that way.”
