Hall of Fame
With the reinstatement of the Plattsburgh State baseball program coinciding with his freshman season in 2002, Matt Kahan helped elevate the program to a playoff-caliber level, as the Cardinals qualified for the SUNYAC Tournament from 2003-05 and achieved a winning record for the first time in 40 years during his senior season 2005.
An impact outfielder all throughout his tenure with the Plattsburgh State baseball program, Matt earned a pair of Jewish Sports Review All-America honors while also picking up two All-SUNYAC laurels and making the All-New York Region Team twice.
Also well-respected within the department, the Levittown, N.Y., native earned the prestigious Plattsburgh State Male Senior Achievement Award in 2004-05 while serving as a team co-captain his junior and senior seasons.

A former NYPD officer, Matt has been involved with numerous community service endeavors, including Mighty Matt (mitochondrial disorder awareness), Brian Mehan – Be the Match, Buddy Walk, Alzheimer’s Walk and Stop Domestic Violence. He is married to his wife, Devin, who he met in Plattsburgh, and he currently resides in Stillwater, N.Y.

“Every day in Plattsburgh was a great moment. Having dinner with my team every night would have to top the list.”
