Where is she now:
Jaclyn is an eighth grade special education teacher in the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Middle School and is also a pitching coach for its school softball program. She lives in Burnt Hills, N.Y., with her husband, Kevin, and two sons, Dylan and Carson. Dylan is 7, and Carson is 3.
“My biggest personal achievement was fulfilling my lifelong goal to be a mother to two wonderful young boys,” Jaclyn said. “Watching them learn and grow has been an incredible experience, and I’m looking forward to being their biggest fans as they continue to reach for their goals. For Dylan, it has brought me great joy to see how hard he has worked and how much joy he has every time he steps onto a soccer field, and being with Carson and listening to him cheer Dylan on during every single game.
“My biggest professional accomplishment has been to come back to teach at the district I graduated from, and coach in a program that I had gone through. I’ve been able to see my athletes participate in several sectional championships, something that was new to our softball program’s history.”
Favorite Plattsburgh State Sports Moment:
“My favorite Plattsburgh State sports moment was when we played in the World Series. It was amazing having so many alumni, family members and friends in the stands cheering us on as we went through every inning. It was something I had dreamed about my whole life. I loved being able to live in the moment and enjoy everything from traveling together, to the ceremonies, to team meals, and playing amazing softball games. Another favorite moment was when we won SUNYACs on our field, and had so many community members come out to support us. At the end of the game, the whole team took a lap around the field to give high fives to all of the people there supporting us.”
