Where are they now:
Stefanie is a Registered Dietitian for Flagler County Public School District in Flagler County, Fla. Her job on a day-to-day basis is making sure their menus are in compliance with federal meal regulations, developing recipes that are healthy and tasteful for the students, and working with a wide range of students with special dietary needs (allergies, autoimmune disorders, etc). In addition to being the main point of contact for all things nutrition for the district’s nine schools, she supervises two of their largest schools (the high schools) to ensure employees are in compliance with standard operating procedures. She currently resides in Palm Coast, Fla., with her husband, Dane. They got married last November and are expecting their first baby, a boy, due Jan. 3, 2025.
She cites her greatest professional and personal accomplishment as taking the risk to move to Florida and accept the role she is in now at Flagler County Public Schools. “I do not take for granted one bit how much it has brought me growth as a leader, and I have met many wonderful people along the way. It brings me joy daily that my job is impactful in making a difference in a student’s life by just providing a nourishing meal for them, sometimes even three times per day and throughout the summer as well.”
Favorite Plattsburgh State Sports Moment:
“My favorite team memory was my senior year of cross country at the Division III NCAA Championships. We ran together as a team and placed seventh overall and were the top from our region, beating our two biggest rivals - SUNY Geneseo and St. Lawrence. My favorite moment individually was also my senior year of cross country when I won both SUNYAC and Regional titles. It meant a lot to me, especially the SUNYAC title after having to miss the previous year to illness.”
