Kathleen Kane Kirleis finished her collegiate career as one of the most decorated runners in school history. In 1989, she was the NCAA Division III national champion in the outdoor 1,500-meter run.

Kane Kirleis graduated as a three-time All-American: cross country in 1988, indoor track in 1989 and outdoor track in 1989. She won a total of five SUNYAC championships in the 1,500-meters. In 1989, Kane Kirleis was also the NYSCWAA 800-meter champion in outdoor track as well as the ECAC Division III cross country champion in 1988.

She joined the SUNYAC Cross Country Hall of Fame in 1986 and was named SUNYAC woman scholar-athlete of the year in 1988.

A success outside of athletics, Kane Kirleis was a Presidential scholar, member of Omicron Delta Kappa honor society, resident assistant and Student Association vice president for academics in 1988.

Where are they now?
She earned her law degree from Suffolk State University and was chief financial officer of the Boston Public Library at the time of her induction. Kane Kirleis continued to run races after college in support of cystic fibrosis.
