Professor Emeritus of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, Edward "Doc" Wiley spent 20 years as a faculty member while also coaching baseball and tennis. He was Plattsburgh State’s first baseball coach, assuming the role from 1947 to 1956. Wiley and the team picked up the program’s first win against Dawson College on May 19, 1947. In addition to his teaching and coaching responsibilities, he was the director of athletics and intramurals for men.
