MEET RESULTS

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's track and field relay team of junior Brian Fabian (East Northport, N.Y. / Northport), senior Sobaan Ayub (Morrisonville, N.Y. / Saranac), graduate Zach Grandy (Gansevoort, N.Y. / Saratoga Springs) and freshman Michael Warchol (New Hartford, N.Y. / New Hartford) won the 4x400 meter in a time of 3:26.57 on Saturday at the Cortland Classic.

Junior Matt Jenkins (South Glens Falls, N.Y./South Glens Falls) ran a 32 second personal best in the 10,000 meter race to finish second of 25 runners with a time of 32:52.00.

Warchol placed second of 51 runners in the 800-meters with a time of 1:57.38.

John Guercio placed second in the javelin with a mark of 158' 1".

The Cardinals 4x100 meter relay team of junior Brian Fabian (East Northport, N.Y. / Northport), senior Sobaan Ayub (Morrisonville, N.Y. / Saranac), freshman Jordan Kane (Malone, N.Y. / Franklin Academy) and sophomore Anthony Ciccarelli (Smithtown, N.Y. / Commack) finished fifth with a time of 44.28.

Junior Adam Whitehead (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Roy C. Ketcham) finished eighth in the 800-meters with a time of 2:01.16.

Kane finished third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.98.

Fabian placed fourth in the 400-meter run with a time of 50.46.

Junior John Weed (Valley Stream, N.Y. / Valley Stream) took sixth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:40.24.

Grandy placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.74.

Ayub took tenth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.77.

Junior William Lindau (Middletown, N.Y. / Pine Bush) finished eighth in the steeplechase with a time of 10:18.96.

Freshman Michael Hartlieb III (Ames, N.Y. / Canajoharie) threw 43' 0.75" in shot put to finish ninth.

Ciccarelli sits in third in the decathlon with 2529 points after four events. He ran 11.46 in the 100-meters, 53.37 in the 400-meters, jumped 19' 6¾" in long jump and threw 34' 11" in shot put.

The decathlon will wrap up the remaining events on Sunday.
