PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team looks to keep their top-three status in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) this year as they bring back 19 and add 11 to the roster.

Last year the Cardinals placed third overall at both the indoor and outdoor SUNYAC championships.

Plattsburgh State was well represented at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field (AARTFC) meet as they sent five individuals and one really to indoors and had eight individuals and two relays at outdoors.

The Cardinals sent one woman to indoor nationals and had two at outdoors.

Junior Elisabeth Plympton (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) looks to make it back to both indoor and outdoor nationals and add to her All-American accolades. She earned All-America Status in indoor after an eighth place finish in the 60-meter dash. She competed in both the 100-meters and 200-meters at the 2018 NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships. Plympton earned SUNYAC Track Athlete of the Year for indoor and was USTFCCCA All-Region honoree in both indoor (60-meter and 200-meter) and outdoor (100-meter and 200-meter).

Sophomore Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac Central) and junior Marissa Jones (Sauquoit, N.Y. / Sauquoit Valley) were USTFCCCA All-Region honoree for outdoor. Both were part of the 4x400 team that place third at the 2018 AARTFC Championships.

Plympton holds the school record in the 60-meter dash.

Plympton, Jones and Barber are part of the 4x100 team that broke the school record last year and were All-SUNYAC in both indoor and outdoor as well.

Plympton was All-SUNYAC for the 60 and 200 in indoor and the 100, 200 and 4x100 in outdoor.

Jones was All-SUNYAC for the 400 and 4x400 in both indoor and outdoor and Barber was All-SUNYAC for the 4x400 in indoor and both the 4x400 and 4x100 in outdoor.

Junior Taylor Canet (Peru, N.Y. / Peru) was All-SUNYAC as part of the indoor 4x400 team.

Sophomore Jackie Corbett (Pine Bush, N.Y. / Pine Bush High) and junior Kristina Watrobski (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) were All-SUNYAC in indoor for the DMR.
Junior Brianna Coon (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) was All-SUNYAC in outdoor for shot put.

Coon just broke the school record in weight throw this past weekend.
 
The distance and middle distance crew for the Cardinals consists of Corbett, Watrobski, sophomore Mikayla Anderson (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Arlington), junior Mikayla Barrett (Rotterdam, N.Y. / Schalmont), freshman Rebecca Block (Lake Grove, N.Y. / Sachem North), junior Annie Campbell (Chateaugay, N.Y. / Chateaugay), sophomore Faith Haley (Cadyville, N.Y. / Saranac High School), sophomore Jennifer Molina (Flushing, N.Y. / World Journalism Preparatory), Sophomore Jazz Roberts (Albany, N.Y. / Guilderland) and freshman Kristen Thomas.

Sprinters include Plympton, Barber, Jones, Canet, sophomore Desirae Blair (Queens, N.Y. / Bayside), freshman Kristen Boerke (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville), freshman Ava Cristiano (Loudonville, N.Y. / Emma Willard School), freshman Isabel Dashnaw (Canton, N.Y. / Hugh C. Williams), freshman Allison Seidman (Commack, N.Y. / Commack) and freshman Victoria Whimple (Castleton, N.Y. / Maple Hill).

The throws crew compromises of Coon, Blair, freshman Kaitlyn Bjelko (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown), junior Cas Costa (Rensselaer, N.Y. / Rensselaer), junior Hannah Cunningham (Campbell Hall, N.Y. / Washingtonville), sophomore Katie Gibson (Ballston Lake, N.Y. / Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake), freshman Journey Myricks (Cohoes, N.Y. / Shaker) and freshman Bliss Rhoads (Copake, N.Y. / Taconic hills).

The jumps crew include Barber, Whimple, freshman Ann Beauchamp (Potsdam, N.Y. / Potsdam) and sophomore Anika Roberts (Holland Patent, N.Y. / Holland Patent).

Sophomore Mikayla Rossier (Menands, N.Y. / Shaker) represent the multis for the Cardinals.

Nick Jones enters his eighth year at the helm of the program, he is assisted by Andrew Krug who is in his seventh season and Sarah Bechtel who is in her second.
