MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team posted several personal bests while competing at the Middlebury Invitational on Saturday.
Junior
Deja Davis (Bronx, N.Y. / Paul Robeson) recorded the top finish for Plattsburgh in the 100-meter dash, placing eighth with a time of 13.80 seconds.
In the 200-meter dash, sophomore
Lexi McDonald (Altona, N.Y. / Northern Adirondack) finished sixth, clocking 28.04 seconds.
Sophomore
Brianna Wise (Niskayuna, N.Y. / Niskayuna) earned a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 1:00.62. First-year
Alexa Markowicz (Peru, N.Y. / Peru Central) also recorded a personal best, placing ninth in 1:03.94.
In the 100-meter hurdles, McDonald led the way with a third-place finish in 17.07 seconds. First-year
Addison Burt (Liverpool, N.Y. / Liverpool) followed in fifth at 18.62 seconds, a personal best, while senior
Mikayla Khadijah (Cairo, N.Y. / Cairo-Durham) and first-year
Jaelynn Lacey (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) placed sixth (18.65 seconds) and seventh (19.88 seconds, personal best), respectively.
First-year
Kaitlyn MacDougall (Fonda, N.Y. / Fonda-Fultonville) posted the top finish in the 400-meter hurdles, placing seventh with a time of 1:16.29. Burt also set a personal best in the event, finishing eighth in 1:16.88.
In the distance events, senior
Ginny Lucchetti (Marcellus, N.Y. / Marcellus) placed sixth in the 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 2:26.26. Sophomore
Emma Mahoney (Spencerport, N.Y. / Spencerport) finished ninth in 2:32.14, followed by sophomore
Ellie LeRoy (Malone, N.Y. / Franklin Academy) in 10th at 2:33.14.
Junior
Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) placed eighth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:04.14, while senior
Marissa Colvin (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls) finished 10th in 5:10.50.
In the 5,000-meter run, sophomore
Lexie Rostak (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) led the Cardinals with a fifth-place finish in 21:22.27. Estus followed in sixth at 21:22.62.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Colvin, graduate student
Nora Graves (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh), Lucchetti, and LeRoy placed sixth in 4:37.25.
In the field events, first-year
Chloe Elliott (Bronx, N.Y. / Belmont Preparatory) cleared 1.37 meters to place seventh in the high jump, while senior
Marissa LeDuc (Saranac, N.Y. / Saranac) led the Cardinals in the long jump with a mark of 4.82 meters for fourth place. First-year
Madalyn Wynnik (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac) followed in seventh with a leap of 4.74 meters.
First-year
Jocelyn Harrington (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls) was the lone Cardinal in the triple jump, placing sixth with a mark of 9.61 meters.
In the throwing events, junior
Taygin Jump (Coupeville, Wash. / Coupeville) placed third in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 41.26 meters and also led Plattsburgh in the discus, placing eighth with a throw of 28.34 meters.
Sophomore
Anni Schneider (Latham, N.Y. / Shaker) paced the Cardinals in the javelin with a sixth-place throw of 26.95 meters. Khadijah finished seventh (24.27 meters), Jump placed eighth (24.17 meters), LeDuc was ninth (23.46 meters), Wynnik finished 10th (21.42 meters), and Lacey rounded out Plattsburgh in 11th (21.29 meters).
The Cardinals return to action on Friday, Apr. 24, traveling to St. Lawrence for the SLU Twilight Invite.
