Six Cardinals Earn CSC Academic All-District Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team Honors

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Junior Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa), sophomores Emma Mahoney (Spencerport, N.Y. / Spencerport), Lexi McDonald (Altona, N.Y. / Northern Adirondack), Isabella Scott (Valatie, N.Y. / Ichabod Crane), and Brianna Wise (Niskayuna, N.Y. / Niskayuna), along with senior Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich. / South Lyon), of the Plattsburgh State women's track and field team earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team honors, the organization announced Tuesday.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes cross country/track & field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Track and field nominees must rank among the top 50 in their region in an individual event, while cross country nominees must record a top-50 individual finish at their NCAA Regional Championship meet.

Estus, an English major with a 4.00 cumulative GPA, ranked in the top 50 in the Mideast Region in two events during the track and field season. Indoors, she recorded her highest regional ranking in the 3,000-meter run (41st). Outdoors, she recorded her highest regional ranking in the 5,000-meter run (50th). She was also recognized for her academic excellence, earning the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Elite 20 Award at both the SUNYAC Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Mahoney, a nursing major with a 3.91 cumulative GPA, ranked in the top 50 in the Mideast Region in one event during the track and field season. Her 35th-place ranking in the 400-meter dash stood as her highest regional finish. Outdoors, she ranked 35th in the 400-meter dash and earned All-Region recognition as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that won gold at the SUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Indoors, she earned All-Region honors as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that won gold at the SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships and was also a member of the distance medley relay team that won silver at the SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.

McDonald, a psychology major with a 4.00 cumulative GPA, ranked in the top 50 in the Mideast Region in three events during the track and field season. Indoors, she ranked 27th in the 60-meter dash and 38th in the 60-meter hurdles, with her top indoor regional ranking coming in the 60-meter dash. Outdoors, she ranked 39th in the 100-meter dash, which stood as her top outdoor regional ranking. She was also recognized for her academic excellence, earning the SUNYAC Elite 20 Award at both the SUNYAC Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Scott, a hospitality major with a 3.62 cumulative GPA, ranked in the top 50 in five events during the track and field season. Indoors, she earned All-Region honors in the pentathlon and as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that won gold at the SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. She ranked eighth in the pentathlon, 11th in the 60-meter hurdles, and 48th in the long jump, with her top indoor regional ranking coming in the pentathlon. Outdoors, she earned All-Region recognition as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that won gold at the SUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She ranked 10th in the Mideast Region in the 400-meter hurdles and 18th in the 110-meter hurdles, with her top outdoor regional ranking coming in the 400-meter hurdles. She also earned bronze in the 400-meter hurdles at the SUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Wise, an accounting major with a 3.92 cumulative GPA, ranked in the top 50 in the Mideast Region in two events during the track and field season. Indoors, she ranked 38th in the 400-meter dash and earned All-Region honors as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that won gold at the SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Outdoors, she ranked 34th in the 400-meter dash and earned All-Region recognition as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that won gold at the SUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Yarkosky, a fitness and wellness leadership major with a 3.61 cumulative GPA, ranked in the top 50 in the Mideast Region in five events during the track and field season. She earned First-Team All-America honors in the 400-meter dash, highlighted by a program-record 54.41 seconds that earned a silver medal at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Indoors, she also earned First-Team All-Region recognition in the 400-meter dash and the 4x400-meter relay, with top regional finishes of first in the 400-meter dash and 21st in the 200-meter dash. She won gold in the 400-meter dash and the 4x400-meter relay at the SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships and gold in the 400-meter dash at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Indoor Championships. Outdoors, she earned First-Team All-America honors in the 400-meter dash and All-Region recognition in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, and 4x400-meter relay. Her top outdoor regional ranking came in the 400-meter dash, where she placed second in the Mideast Region, followed by eighth in the 200-meter dash and 34th in the 100-meter dash. She closed the season by capturing gold in the 4x400-meter relay at the SUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and gold in the 400-meter dash at the AARTFC Outdoor Championships.
