SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich. / South Lyon) of the Plattsburgh State women's track and field team has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the period ending Apr. 26, as announced Monday by the conference office. This is her third overall career honor and her first outdoor weekly honor. As a team, the Cardinals have now earned three weekly honors, but this is the team's first weekly honor of the outdoor season.

Yarkosky delivered a standout performance for Plattsburgh State at the SLU Twilight Invite, leading the Cardinals with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 56.08 seconds, an All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifying mark. Yarkosky also played a key role in the 4x400-meter relay, helping the Cardinals secure a first-place finish with a time of 4:18.98. Her efforts were instrumental in Plattsburgh State's strong showing, as the team placed second overall with 174 points at the meet.

The Cardinals return to action at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships on Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2, hosted by Cortland. Only athletes who have met the qualifying standards will travel to compete.
