BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team is set to compete at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, Feb. 27, and Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Special Events Recreation Center.
TICKET PRICING: Tickets will be available for purchase on site. Sales and entry begin at 2 p.m. on Friday and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

SUNYAC CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY: Overall, Cortland holds the most titles with 19, followed by former SUNYAC member Geneseo, now a member of the Empire 8 Conference, with 14, and Buffalo State with four.
ABOUT THE 2025 SUNYAC CHAMPIONSHIP: At the 2025 SUNYAC Indoor Championships, Cortland captured the women's team title with 243.5 points, followed by Oneonta with 124.5 and SUNY Delhi with 76, while Plattsburgh State finished fifth with 47 points, highlighted by strong performances in the 4x400-meter relay and the indoor pentathlon.
Returning individual champions include Natalia Sawyer of Buffalo State in the 200- and 400-meter dashes and 60-meter hurdles, Oli Kraynik of Alfred State in the 800-meter run, Natalia Sweat of Oneonta in the mile, and Charlotte Warner of SUNY Delhi in the 3,000-meter run. All return to defend their conference titles.
In the relays, Plattsburgh State's 4x400-meter team of sophomore
Isabella Scott (Valatie, N.Y. / Ichabod Crane), sophomore
Brianna Wise (Niskayuna, N.Y. / Niskayuna), sophomore
Emma Mahoney (Spencerport, N.Y. / Spencerport), and senior
Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich. / South Lyon) returns intact to defend last season's championship. Oneonta's distance medley relay team, including Brianna Senatore, Eva Woodworth, and Natalia Sweat, brings back three of four from last year's title squad.
In the field events, returning champions include Emily Richardson of Alfred State, who tied for first last season in the high jump, Cara Pellechia of Fredonia in the pole vault, Lilly Swyers of Cortland in the triple jump, and Kayla Tretola of Cortland in the shot put. Senior
Marissa LeDuc (Saranac, N.Y. / Saranac) of Plattsburgh State returns as last season's pentathlon champion, though she will not compete in the event this season.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS: The Cardinals have been led all season by Yarkosky, who broke three program records this year, including the 400-meter dash, and enters the weekend as the top seed in the event (56.29). Yarkosky will also run on the Cardinals' 4x400-meter relay team, which holds the top seed with a time of 4:03.84.
The full 4x400-meter relay squad includes Scott, Wise, Mahoney, Yarkosky, and first-years
Kaitlyn MacDougall (Fonda, N.Y. / Fonda-Fultonville) and
Alexa Markowicz (Peru, N.Y. / Peru Central).
Scott is among Plattsburgh's top five seeds and will also compete in the pentathlon, where she enters as the fourth seed with 2,468 points.
Other track competitors for Plattsburgh include sophomore
Lexi McDonald (Altona, N.Y. / Northern Adirondack) in the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and 60-meter hurdles. Wise and MacDougall will compete in the 400-meter dash, while sophomore
Ellie LeRoy (Malone, N.Y. / Franklin Academy) and senior
Ginny Lucchetti (Marcellus, N.Y. / Marcellus) will run in the 800-meter run.
Junior
Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa), senior
Marissa Colvin (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls), and LeRoy are set for the 3,000-meter run, with Colvin also entered in the 5,000-meter run, in which she earned bronze last year. Senior
Mikayla Khadijah (Cairo, N.Y. / Cairo-Durham) will compete in the 60-meter hurdles.
Plattsburgh will also compete in the distance medley relay in addition to the 4x400-meter relay. LeRoy, Mahoney, Lucchetti, Estus, and MacDougall are slated for DMR competition.
Other field event competitors for the Cardinals include first-years
Jaelynn Lacey (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) and
Chloe Elliott (Bronx, N.Y. / Belmont Preparatory) in the high jump. LeDuc will compete in the long jump and shot put, while first-year
Jocelyn Harrington (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls) is entered in the triple jump. Junior
Taygin Jump (Coupeville, Wash. / Coupeville) is the lone Cardinal in the weight throw.
In his first season at Plattsburgh, Director of Cross Country and Track and Field
Nathan Petesch will guide the Cardinals into the Indoor SUNYAC Championship. With a returning individual champion and a 4x400-meter relay squad back to defend its title, Plattsburgh is positioned to contend for a strong team finish.
Friday's competition begins with the women's pole vault at 2:30 p.m. Saturday's events open at 10:30 a.m. with the women's heptathlon 60-meter hurdles and the women's long jump.
WHAT'S NEXT: The All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Championship is scheduled for Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7, at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York, N.Y. Several Cardinals have already secured qualification, with additional opportunities available at the SUNYAC Championships.
