Charles Cypress (New Windsor, N.Y. / Cornwall) of the Plattsburgh State men's track and field team has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row, as announced Monday by the conference office. This is his fourth career honor and the second weekly honor for the team this year.
Cypress delivered a record-breaking performance in the 300-meter dash as Plattsburgh State placed first at the St. Lawrence Invitational. He clocked 35.27 seconds, setting a new program, meet, and facility record and earning first place for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals are next in action on Saturday, Jan. 31, when they travel to Ithaca to compete in the Bomber Invitational.
