ITHACA, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team traveled to Ithaca for the Bomber Invitational, posting several strong performances, including three All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifying marks.
In sprint events,
Jordan Williams (Bronx, N.Y. / Cardinal Hayes) ran a 10th-place time of 7.13 seconds in the 60-meter dash preliminaries.
Milo Pearsall (Cold Spring, N.Y. / Haldane) led Plattsburgh in the 200-meter dash, posting a personal best of 23.64 seconds. In hurdles,
Thomas Clark (Stone Ridge, N.Y. / Rondout Valley) placed third in the 60-meter hurdles, timing 8.56 seconds.
The Cardinals also had standout performances in the 400-meter dash.
Charles Cypress (New Windsor, N.Y. / Cornwall) earned a second-place finish with an AARTFC qualifying time of 49.94 seconds, while
Ethan Cypress (New Windsor / Cornwall) set a personal best of 52.25 seconds.
In mid-distance competition,
Michael Ayala (New Paltz, N.Y. / New Paltz) recorded a personal best of 2:06.70 in the 800-meter run. In the 3,000-meter run,
Samuel Van Auken (Greenville, N.Y. / Greenville) placed third with a time of 8:49.34, while
Matthias Lauvau (Rye, N.Y. / Rye) and
Brody Serfass (Endwell, N.Y. / Maine Endwell) both posted personal bests, finishing 25th at 9:48.85 and 26th at 9:49.06, respectively.
The Cardinals also posted strong results in field events. In the high jump,
Collin Pringle (Suffern, N.Y. / Suffern) cleared 1.83 meters for seventh place. In the long jump,
Isaiah Ritter (Peekskill, N.Y. / Peekskill) led Plattsburgh with a second-place mark of 6.95 meters, while
Jeremiah Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y. / East New York Family Academy) posted a personal best of 6.84 meters for third place—both earning AARTFC qualifying marks.
In the throwing events,
Roanan Ross (Memphis, N.Y. / Jordan Eldridge) led Plattsburgh in the shot put with a throw of 10.81 meters, while
Zach Stevens (Queensbury, N.Y. / Glens Falls) set a personal best in the weight throw at 14.10 meters.
The Cardinals will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 7, traveling to Utica to compete in the Blue and Orange Invitational & Multi.
