COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team closed out action at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday.
Plattsburgh finished 26th with nine points, while Rowan won the championship with 108 points.
Senior
Charles Cypress (New Windsor, N.Y. / Cornwall) led the way for the Cardinals, scoring in the 200-meter dash. Cypress clocked 21.61 seconds to place fourth, just missing out on a podium finish.
In the field events, first-year
Collin Pringle (Suffern, N.Y. / Suffern) competed in the triple jump, finishing 20th with a leap of 13.42 meters.
Plattsburgh now awaits the announcement of qualifiers for next week's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, May 21-23, at Wisconsin-La Crosse. The final list of participants will be released on NCAA.com on Friday, May 15. The top 22 competitors in each event and the top 16 relay teams will qualify for the national meet.
