COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team opened competition today at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships. After the first day of competition, the Cardinals sit tied for 23rd place with four points.
Plattsburgh began the day in the 4x100-meter relay preliminaries, where the team of sophomores
Jack Scauri (Hauppauge, N.Y. / Hauppauge),
Brian Shannon (Goshen, N.Y. / Goshen),
Ethan Cypress (New Windsor, N.Y. / Cornwall), and first-year
Milo Pearsall (Cold Spring, N.Y. / Haldane) placed 17th with a time of 43.24 seconds.
In the sprint events, Pearsall finished 31st in the 100-meter preliminaries, crossing the line in 11.09 seconds.
Sophomore
Thomas Clark (Stone Ridge, N.Y. / Rondout Valley) led the Cardinals in the 110-meter hurdle preliminaries with a 19th-place finish in 15.23 seconds, while first-year
Max Page (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) placed 35th in 15.80 seconds.
Junior
Isaiah Ritter (Peekskill, N.Y. / Peekskill) paced Plattsburgh in the long jump, earning a fifth-place finish with a leap of 7.11 meters to score the Cardinals' only points of the day. Fifth-year
Jeremiah Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y. / East New York Family Academy) followed with an 11th-place finish after recording a mark of 6.89 meters.
The Cardinals will return to action tomorrow at the AARTFC Outdoor Championships at Patterson Field, with events scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
