2026 USTFCCCA Men's Track and Field All-Academic Teams
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its track and field academic awards on Monday, recognizing Plattsburgh State men's track and field student-athlete
Charles Cypress (New Windsor, N.Y. / Cornwall) for his academic excellence. The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team also earned recognition as an All-Academic Team.
For athletes to be eligible, students must carry a GPA over 3.30 and meet one of the following athletic criteria listed by the USTFCCCA:
Must have finished the season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who participated at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships, are eligible.
Must have competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the indoor descending order list on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 35 relay teams, but who participated in the relay at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships, are eligible. Finally, any competing relay team member on an expanded descending order list to include 35 institutions (one relay team per institution) is eligible.
Cypress graduated with a degree in Nursing and a 3.74 cumulative GPA, earning USTFCCCA All-Academic recognition.
Teams must carry a GPA of at least 3.10 to be eligible for the USTFCCCA All-Academic list.
The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team excelled in the classroom, posting a 3.18 cumulative GPA to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors.
The Cardinals finished tied for fourth at the SUNYAC Indoor Championships before placing fifth at the SUNYAC Outdoor Championships.
