WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team is set to compete at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday, May 14, and Thursday, May 15, at the Lee Track at Williams College.

The Cardinals will be bringing seven student-athletes to compete this week, as junior Charles Cypress (New Windsor, N.Y./Cornwall) will compete in the 100-meter and the 200-meter dash. Currently, he ranks 18th in the AARTFC in the 100-meter dash with his season-best time of 10.67 and 13th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.51. Junior Jordan Williams (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Hayes) will also compete in the 100-meter dash, with his time of 10.78 ranking 31st.
 
First-year Thomas Clark (Stone Ridge, N.Y./Rondout Valley) will compete in the 110-meter hurdles, currently ranking 24th in the AARTFC with a time of 14.97. Junior Samuel Van Auken (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) will be the lone distance runner for the Cards, competing in the 10,000-meter run with his 43rd-ranked mark of 32:37.30.

First-year Jackson Hooper (Elizabethtown, N.Y./Boquet Valley) and sophomore Isaiah Ritter (Peekskill, N.Y./Peekskill) will also attend the meet for Plattsburgh State, competing in the high jump and long jump, respectively. Hooper ranks 12th in the AARTFC with his season-best high jump of 1.95 meters, and Ritter is 22nd in the long jump with his 6.89-meter jump that he achieved at the conference championship meet. Senior Isaiah Martens-Collins (London, Ontario/Penticton), coming off a conference title in the javelin throw, will compete in Wednesday's AARTFC javelin event, ranking 29th in the region with their mark of 52.94 meters.

On Wednesday, Clark will kick off Plattsburgh State action at approximately 4:50 p.m. in the 110-meter hurdles while Cypress and Williams will compete in the 100-meter trials at around 5:25 p.m. Men's long jump and javelin are set to begin around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and Van Auken will compete in the last event on Wednesday at around 8:50 p.m.
 
Thursday will begin with Hooper in the high jump at 11 a.m., while the 110-meter hurdle finals and 100-meter finals will occur after 1:00 p.m. if Clark, Cypress, or Williams advance. Cypress will run in the 200-meter event around 3:50 p.m. in the final event for Plattsburgh on Thursday.

WHAT'S NEXT: The NCAA Outdoor Championships will be hosted by the SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio, on Thursday, May 22 – Saturday, May 24, for those who qualify.
