2024-25 Roster
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team kicks off its 2024-25 indoor season on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Saints Holiday Relays hosted by St. Lawrence University and looks to continue to climb the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) standings.
The Cardinals, led by fourth-year head coach
Andrew Krug, finished eighth at last year's SUNYAC Indoor Championships.
Marissa Colvin (South Glens Falls, N.Y./South Glens Falls) and
Sarah Smith (Lake Pleasant, N.Y./Wells) are returning scorers from last year's meet, as Colvin placed seventh in the 5,000-meter run and Smith finished in seventh place in the mile run.
Marissa LeDuc (Saranac, N.Y./Saranac) also scored for the team in the pentathlon with an eighth-place finish. The team will also get some talented reinforcement with
Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon), the outdoor 800-meter SUNYAC champ, competing in the indoor season for the first time.
Distance
Senior
Sarah Smith and junior
Marissa Colvin will anchor what should be a solid distance unit in 2024-25, one that saw both the aforementioned players score at the championship meet. The distance medley relay team from last year, which has three of the four runners returning, was fifth last season at the championship meet and posted an All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) championship qualifying mark.
Returning to the unit after the cross country season will be
Ginny Lucchetti (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus), along with Smith and Colvin. Five first-years make up the rest of the distance group with
Isabelle Cunningham (Bethlehem, N.Y./Bethlehem),
Amber Gibbs (Hampton, N.Y./Granville),
Jillian Head (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern),
Lexie Rostak (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown), and
Ella Stuttard (Oriskany Falls, N.Y./Waterville) rounding out the squad.
Hurdles
Junior
Mikayla Khadijah (Cairo, N.Y./Cairo-Durham) will anchor the hurdles group as the lone returner, as she is joined by first-year
Alexis McDonald (Altona, N.Y./Northern Adirondack)
Mid-Distance
Competing in her first indoor season, junior
Grace Yarkosky will look to follow up a fantastic outdoor debut with an even better indoor debut this season, anchoring the mid-distance group. Sophomore
Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa), who is coming off her first cross country season, should primed and ready for her second-year campaign.
Also returning to this group in 2024-25 will be
Kailyn Ginter (Northville, N.Y./Northville),
Lillian Moran (Albany, N.Y. /Colonie Central), and
Julia Robinson (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East).
Multis
Marissa LeDuc will look to be a consistent source of points this season after two season posting AARTFC marks in the pentathlon.
Sprints
The largest group on the team this season will also be the youngest as the Cardinals bring back no returners to the sprints crew in 2024-25.

Throws
The Cardinals return two throwers this season, as senior
Alaina Conners (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson) will lead the group this season, and
Taygin Jump (Coupeville, Wash./Coupeville) will continue to be a scoring threat at meets this year.
Tessy Huntley (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) and
Harmony Sanders (Geneseo, N.Y./Geneseo) help round out the 2024-25 throwing unit.
Schedule
The Cardinals kick off the season on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the first SLU Open hosted by St. Lawrence University in their lone meet of the first semester. Plattsburgh State rings in the new year on Saturday, Jan. 18 when they visit Middlebury for the Middlebury Winter Invitational. The winter schedule then continues with a second trip to St. Lawrence, this time for the St. Lawrence Invitational which will occur on Saturday, Jan. 25.
Plattsburgh State will host their only home meet of the season on Tuesday, Feb. 4 in the Plattsburgh State Tuesday Track and Field Meet, which will begin at 4 p.m. in the Field House. The following Friday, the Cards will head to Staten Island for the Fastrack National Invitational, hosted by the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Facility on Feb. 7. The team will also bring qualifiers to the DIII Elite Meet on Feb. 14 and Feb. 15 hosted by Nazareth. The Cardinals then wrap up their regular season for indoor heading to St. Lawrence for the third time at the SLU Open, which will be on Saturday, Feb. 21.
The two-day State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship meet will occur from Friday-Saturday, Feb. 28 and Mar. 1, at The College at Brockport, while the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships will take place from Friday-Saturday, Mar. 7-8, at Ithaca College. The 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships are slated for Friday-Saturday, March 14-15, at Nazareth College
Head coach
Andrew Krug enters his fourth season at the helm of the Plattsburgh State track and field program in 2024-25, also marking his 16
th season with the program overall. The women are coming off an eighth-place finish at the SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
