MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Freshmen
Cameron Aviles (Campbell Hall, N.Y./Washingtonville) and
Brexton Montville (Cadyville, N.Y./Saranac) each achieved State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Indoor Track and Field Championship qualifying times while competing for the Plattsburgh State men's track and field team on Saturday at the Middlebury Invitational hosted by Middlebury College.
Aviles charted a SUNYAC Championship qualifying time in both the 60-meter dash (7.39, eighth) and the 200-meter dash (23.73, eighth), while Montville achieved the conference meet standard in the 400-meter dash (54.03, second).
Senior
Ralph Cordeau (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) took fourth in the 400-meter dash (56.03), while freshman
Cameron Giuliano (Shokan, N.Y./Onteora) placed fifth in the 400-meter dash (56.82) and freshman
Erik Sicko (Stillwater, N.Y./Stillwater) finished fifth in the 500-meter run (1:11.56).
The Cardinals will return to action next weekend at both the Ithaca Bomber Invitational hosted by Ithaca College from Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 1-2, and the Pioneer Open hosted by Utica College on Saturday, Feb. 1.
