CANTON, N.Y. – Junior
Andrew Horan (Albany, N.Y./Guilderland) won two events and contributed on the Cardinals' second-place 4x400-meter relay, as the Plattsburgh State men's track and field team placed second out of three teams on Saturday at the St. Lawrence Invitational hosted by St. Lawrence University.
Horan won the mile run in 4:26.64—currently the best time in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and an indoor personal best—and less than an hour later, he ran a SUNYAC leading and indoor personal-best time of 1:58.59 in the 800-meter run to finish first.
Freshman
Brendyn Marrero (Rock Tavern, N.Y./Washingtonville) won the 60-meter dash in 7.24, while freshman
Jared Davidson (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) clocked a first-place time of 51.84 in the 400-meter dash. The Cardinals' 4x200-meter relay team of Marrero, freshman
Marlon Peak Jr. (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Lakeland), sophomore
Connor O'Neil (Dover Plains, N.Y./Dover) and Davidson also earned a first-place finish with a time of 1:33.69.
Second-place finishes came from junior
Arthur Horan (Albany, N.Y./Guilderland) in the mile run (4:36.69) and the 4x400-meter relay team of

Placing third for the Cardinals were Peak Jr. in the 400-meter dash (52.91) and
Arthur Horan in the 800-meter run (2:06.06).
Plattsburgh State returns to action next weekend, with a select group of student-athletes competing at the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University from Friday-Saturday, Jan. 24-25, and the remainder of the team competing at the Middlebury Invitational hosted by Middlebury College on Saturday, Jan. 25.
