TROY, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team finished sixth of 13 teams at the Capital District Classic hosted by RPI on Saturday.
The 4x400 relay of sophomore
Brenden Jung (Greenville, N.Y. / Minisink Valley), sophomore
Luke Groves (Slingerlands, N.Y. / Guilderland), sophomore
Andrew Horan (Albany, N.Y. / Guilderland) and senior
Brian Fabian (East Northport, N.Y. / Northport) won the event with a time of 3:29.70.
Junior
Alex Hepburn (Corning, N.Y. / Corning-Painted Post) finished third in the triple jump with a SUNYAC mark of 12.67 meters (41' 7") and took fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.72 meters (5' 7¾").
Junior
Kade Lampman (Ballston Lake, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) placed fourth in the hammer throw with a SUNYAC mark of 46.40 meters (152' 2").
Fabian was fifth in the 200-meters with a SUNYAC time of 23.30 seconds.
Senior
William Lindau (Middletown, N.Y. / Pine Bush) finished fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a SUNYAC time of 10:39.86.
Horan took sixth in the 800-meters with a SUNYAC time of 1:59.55.
Freshman
Connor O'Neil (Dover Plains, N.Y. / Dover Union) placed sixth in the 100-meter with a SUNYAC time of 11.68 seconds.
Freshman
Jacob Leaper (Scotia Glenville, N.Y. / Scotia Glenville) was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a SUNYAC time of 18.93 seconds.
Senior
John Guercio (Carmel, N.Y. / Carmel) finished sixth in the javelin with a mark of 42.36 meters (138' 11").
The Cardinals will travel to Brockport. N.Y. for the SUNYAC championship on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4.
