MEET RESULTS
BURLINGTON, Vt. - Sophomore
John O'Connor (Canajoharie, N.Y. / Canajoharie) of the Plattsburgh State men's track and field team placed first in both weight throw and shot put at the North Country All-Comers Invitational hosted by the University of Vermont on Sunday.
O'Connor threw a personal best 48' 8.75" in weight throw and threw 42' 4.75" in shot put, both State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) qualifying marks.
Junior
Alex Hepburn (Corning, N.Y. / Corning-Painted Post) took first in the triple jump with a SUNAYC mark of 40' 5.50".
Sophomore
Luke Groves(Slingerlands, N.Y. / Guilderland) was first in 800-meters with a SUNYAC qualifying time of 2:01.39 which is a new personal best.
Sophomore
Michael Ferris (Latham, N.Y. / Shaker) finished second in both weight throw and shot put with SUNYAC qualifying marks of 38' 3.50" and 39' 0.50" respectively.
Senior
Adam Whitehead(Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Roy C. Ketcham) placed second in the 800 with a 2:02.40 while sophomore
Andrew Horan (Albany, N.Y. / Guilderland) finished third in the 800 with a 2:02.48, both SUNYAC qualifying times.
Senior
William Lindau (Middletown, N.Y. / Pine Bush) was third in the one mile with a time of 4:43.67.
The men's 4x400-meter relay of Groves, Horan, freshman
Joseph Chianese (Shoreham, N.Y. / Shoreham-Wading River) and freshman
Brian Keach (Bay Shore, N.Y. / Bay Shore) took first with a time of 3:43.02.
The Cardinals are back in action Saturday, Feb. 16 for the Middlebury Team Challenge.
