Three Men's Track And Field Athletes Hit SUNYAC Qualifying Marks

CANTON, N.Y. –
Three men's track and field athletes hit State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) qualifying marks on Saturday at the Saints Holiday Relays hosted by St. Lawrence.

Junior Kade Lampman (Ballston Lake, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) placed second in both shot put and weight throw with marks of 40 feet, seven inches and 48 feet, six inches respectively to qualify for the conference meet.

Sophomore John O'Connor (Canajoharie, N.Y. / Canajoharie) also qualified in both weight throw and shot put. He placed third in weight throw with a mark of 46 feet, 3.25 inches and threw 39 feet, seven inches.

Sophomore Michael Ferris (Latham, N.Y. / Shaker) qualified in weight throw with a mark of 39 feet, 1.25 inches.

Senior Brian Fabian (East Northport, N.Y. / Northport) won the 500-meter dash in a time of 1:07.89.

Freshman Jacob Leaper (Scotia Glenville, N.Y. / Scotia Glenville) placed third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.31 seconds.

The men's sprint medley relay of freshman Michael Meddings (Massena, N.Y. / Massena Central), sophomore Brenden Jung (Greenville, N.Y. / Minisink Valley), Fabian and freshman Tyler Martin (Saranac Lake, N.Y. / Saranac Lake) won with a time of 3:45.83.

The 4x400 relay of Jung, junior Alex Hepburn (Corning, N.Y. / Corning-Painted Post), Meddings and Fabian placed second with a time of 3:41.35.

The 4x200 relay of freshman Vincent Perna (Commack, N.Y. / Commack), freshman Jacob Leaper (Scotia Glenville, N.Y. / Scotia Glenville), freshman Kyle Mora (Pinebush, N.Y. / Pinebush) and Senior John Guercio (Carmel, N.Y. / Carmel) and senior John Guercio (Carmel, N.Y. / Carmel) finished third in a time of 1:50.23.

The Cardinals are back in action Saturday, Dec. 8 for the SLU Dual Duel In Newell hosted by St. Lawrence.
