WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team wrapped up action at the Farley Inter Regional on Saturday evening.
The Cardinals saw three athletes compete in the 100-meter dash preliminaries. Sophomore
Ethan Cypress (New Windsor, N.Y. / Cornwall) led the group with a personal-best time of 11.44 seconds, placing 26th. Sophomores
Brian Shannon (Goshen, N.Y. / Goshen) and
Jack Scauri (Hauppauge, N.Y. / Hauppauge) followed in 34th (11.76 seconds) and 36th (11.82 seconds), respectively.
In hurdles action, first-year
Max Page (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) competed in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking 15.74 seconds to place eighth.
In relay competition, the 4x100-meter relay team of first-year
Giel Cheverez-Soto (Amsterdam, N.Y. / Amsterdam), E. Cypress, Scauri, and Shannon placed 10th with a time of 45.96 seconds.
In the field events, junior
Tyler Baker (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) recorded the top finish for the Cardinals, placing eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.44 meters.
Graduate student
Faris Webber (Arlington, Va. / Washington Liberty) competed in the javelin, finishing 12th with a throw of 44.10 meters.
The Cardinals return to action at the AARTFC Championships on May 13 and 14 at Patterson Field, hosted by Ursinus.
