4/9/2026 1:00:00 PM

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Division III Week continues today, Thursday, April 9, as NCAA Division III institutions across the country celebrate the unique student‑athlete experience. Throughout the week, we are spotlighting student-athletes on social media, providing them with a platform to share what it means to compete at the Division III level by answering a series of questions.

Today, we will hear from Isabella Scott, a sophomore on the women's track and field team, as she shares her answers to the questions below.

What's your favorite part about being a Division III athlete?

"I love being an athlete because it lets me continue to compete competitively towards my athletic goals."

What's the toughest part about balancing your sport, academics, and social life, and how do you handle it?

"Balancing all these parts can be difficult in general as an athlete, but I could not live or function without a planner. It makes it easier to see every part of my week in front of me."

What values has Division III built into you?

"I have better discipline, stronger perseverance, and humility."

What made you choose the Division III path over other options?

"I like getting to compete with other athletes at the same level and have fun with it while getting to focus primarily on my education."

How do you take pride in representing SUNY Plattsburgh?

"I love being able to represent Plattsburgh at championship meets and show how our small school is not one to disregard."

What is one moment as a student-athlete at Plattsburgh State that you'll never forget?

"Becoming a SUNYAC gold medalist in the 400-meter hurdles and a 2-time 4x400-meter SUNYAC Champion as a freshman during my first-ever outdoor season."

In three words, how would you describe your student-athlete experience?

"Motivating, Enjoyable, Hard-Work"
