SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior attacker
Dylan Ruland (Medford, N.Y. / Patchogue-Medford) of the Plattsburgh State men's lacrosse team earned State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Offensive Athlete of the Week honors for the period ending Apr. 5, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. It marks Ruland's first weekly award of the season and the team's second overall.
Ruland played a pivotal role in the Cardinals' road SUNYAC contest at Oswego State, finishing with a career- and game-high seven points on five goals and two assists to lead Plattsburgh to a 12-10 victory. The junior attacker was highly efficient, putting eight of nine shots on goal for an 88.9% SOG rate, while also contributing two ground balls. Ruland set the tone for Plattsburgh's offense and helped the Cardinals secure their second consecutive conference win.
Plattsburgh State is currently 7-2 (2-0 SUNYAC) and will return to action on Wednesday, Apr. 8, traveling to Potsdam for a 6 p.m. opening faceoff.
