NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team competed on Day Two of the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Indoor Championships on Saturday.
Plattsburgh finished tied for 25th with eight points, while Rowan won the championship with 118 points.
Senior
Charles Cypress (New Windsor, N.Y. / Cornwall) recorded the best finish for Plattsburgh, placing third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.83 seconds to earn six points.
Sophomore
Ethan Cypress (New Windsor, N.Y. / Cornwall) had a solid performance in the 400-meter dash, finishing 30th in 50.67 seconds to set a new personal best.
In the high jump, first-year
Collin Pringle (Suffern, N.Y. / Suffern) cleared 1.91 meters to place 15th.
Plattsburgh now awaits the announcement of qualifiers for next weekend's NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, set for Friday and Saturday, Mar. 13–14, at Birmingham-Southern College. The final list of participants will be released on NCAA.com this Sunday, March 8, at 7 p.m. The top 20 competitors in each individual event and the top 12 relay teams (4x400 and DMR) will qualify for the national meet.
