MEDFORD, Mass. – Junior
Isaiah Ritter (Peekskill, N.Y. / Peekskill) earned a first-place finish and an All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifying mark in the long jump, leaping 6.88 meters as the Plattsburgh State men's track and field team competed at the Tufts Cupid Challenge.
In the sprint events, senior
Charles Cypress (New Windsor, N.Y. / Cornwall) led the way with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash, posting a time of 50.24 seconds and narrowly missing an AARTFC qualifying mark.
First-year
Milo Pearsall (Cold Spring, N.Y. / Haldane) ran a solid race in the 60-meter dash invite preliminary round, finishing 15th with a time of 7.15 seconds.
Senior
Samuel Van Auken (Greenville, N.Y. / Greenville) paced the Cardinals in the 5,000-meter dash with a personal-best time of 15:15.03, placing 16th.
Fifth-year
Jeremiah Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y. / East New York Family Academy) also competed in the long jump alongside Ritter, finishing 15th with a mark of 6.64 meters.
The Cardinals return to action on Friday, Feb. 20, traveling to St. Lawrence for the SLU Open.
