2025 SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore defender Fynn Whitlock (Middlebury, Vt. / Middlebury Union) of Plattsburgh State has been named to the All-State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Second Team for men's lacrosse, as announced Tuesday by the conference office. This is Whitlock's first all-league honor of his career and the first All-SUNYAC honor for the men's lacrosse program since 2022, when former Cardinal Stephen Kane earned second-team plaudits.

Whitlock had a strong 2025 campaign, leading the team defensively in caused turnovers while recording the second most ground balls. The sophomore defender caused 31 turnovers, also leading the conference in that category, and scooped up 50 ground balls, which tied for 11th in the conference. The Middlebury native recorded a caused turnover in every game and had three or more caused turnovers in four games. Whitlock's best performance on the defensive end came against Vermont State University (VTSU) Castleton on Mar. 5 when he caused a season-high five turnovers and picked up a season-high six ground balls. He had another five-caused turnover performance against New Paltz on Apr. 12 and followed that up with another six-ground ball performance against Oswego State on Apr. 19. He had multi-ground ball outings in every game this season, picking up three or more ground balls in 10 games. Whitlock also impacted the offensive end with a goal and an assist, totaling two points on the year.

James Sullivan and Christian Lembo of Cortland were tabbed Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively. Jamie O'Neil of Oneonta was named the Offensive Player of the Year. Head coach Lelan Rogers and his staff from Cortland were recognized as the Paul Rose Coaching Staff of the Year.

Plattsburgh State finished the season 6-8 (2-5 SUNYAC).
