2024-25 CSC Academic All-District At-Large Teams
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Sophomore
Fynn Whitlock (Middlebury, Vt. / Middlebury Union) was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's At-Large Teams that was released Tuesday. This is Whitlock's first career honor, and he has been advanced to the Academic All-America ballot, where teams will be announced on July 9.
The Academic All-District At-Large teams recognize NCAA sports that do not currently have a designated program in the Academic All-America catalog. To be eligible for the ballot as a lacrosse student-athlete, nominees must have competed in 90% of the team's total games and be at least a sophomore academically, and carry a cumulative 3.50 GPA.
Whitlock, a Finance and Economics major with a 3.88 cumulative GPA, appeared in 13 games with 12 starts. The sophomore defender had a strong season, earning State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Second Team honors, the first all-league honor of his career. Whitlock led the conference and his team with 31 caused turnovers. He was second on the team in ground balls, scooping up 50 on the year. On the offensive end, Whitlock added a goal and an assist for two points. His season was highlighted by a season-high five caused turnovers against New Paltz on Apr. 12, followed by a season-high six ground balls against Oswego State on Apr. 19.
The men's lacrosse team finished the year 6-8 (2-5 SUNYAC), capping off their season with a 13-7 win over Morrisville.
