PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's soccer team had four State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Conference honorees this season, with seniors Santiago Vargas (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage) and Randall Ashong (Nungua, Ghana/Arlington) earning first-team honors, junior Tristan Laundree (Keeseville, N.Y./AuSable Valley) posting second-team plaudits, and sophomore Matthew D'Ippolito (Baldwin Place, N.Y./Somers) was a third-team honoree.

Vargas emerged as the Cardinals' primary playmaker this season, taking a significant step forward in his development while becoming one of the team's on-field leaders. Operating out of the attacking midfield role, Vargas consistently drove the offense, finishing tied for second on the team with 10 points on four goals and two assists. His vision, composure on the ball, and ability to unlock defenses made him a central figure in Plattsburgh State's attack throughout the year.

Captain and center-back Ashong anchored the Cardinals' defensive unit, emerging as one of the team's most reliable and impactful leaders. Possessing a rare blend of speed, physicality, and composure, Ashong consistently stabilized the back line while serving as the primary ball-handler to initiate Plattsburgh State's attack out of the defensive third. He started 16 games, logged the second-most minutes on the team, and added a goal, all while providing the steady presence and veteran leadership that shaped one of the strongest defensive groups in the conference.

Laundree took a major leap this season, emerging as a focal point of the Cardinals' attack and one of their most dynamic 1v1 threats. He finished tied for second on the team with 10 points on three goals and four assists, ranking third in goals, second in assists, and second in total shots. Laundree started 17 games and consistently generated offense with his ability to take defenders on, create space, and drive play forward, becoming an essential piece of Plattsburgh State's attacking identity.

In goal, D'Ippolito emerged as the Cardinals' next standout, delivering a strong first season as the team's full-time starter. He firmly secured the role early on, posting an impressive 0.79 goals-against average while starting all 18 games and earning 10 wins. D'Ippolito totaled 50 saves and led the team in minutes played, providing consistency, composure, and reliability between the posts as the backbone of Plattsburgh State's defensive unit.
