PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - Junior captain Sydney Myers (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Saranac) was the driving force behind Plattsburgh State's dramatic turnaround in 2025, earning SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Year honors after a season in which she was the unquestioned heart and soul of the Cardinals.

Starting 18 games and leading the team in minutes, Myers totaled 27 points on 11 goals and five assists, contributing to more than half of the team's 30 goals. In conference play, she added five goals and three assists, ranking second in the SUNYAC in goals and third in points. Time and again, Myers delivered in crucial moments, recording five game-winning goals and proving herself a difference-maker in tight contests.

Myers brought a decorated resume to Plattsburgh, having earned Third Team All-Northeast-10 Conference and All-Rookie Team honors at Division II St. Rose, including First Team All-East Region recognition as a first-year. Most recently, she led Southern Connecticut State in 2024–25 with 25 points on nine goals and seven assists.

This season, Myers' combination of skill, poise, and offensive instinct made her one of the most dangerous players in the conference. Her ability to control the attack, create opportunities for teammates, and score in critical moments played a pivotal role in Plattsburgh State's rise from a 7th-place finish last year to a SUNYAC Championship appearance in 2025.
