4/6/2026 2:26:00 PM

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Division III Week continues today, Monday, April 6, as NCAA Division III institutions across the country celebrate the unique student-athlete experience. Throughout the week, we are highlighting student-athletes on social media, giving them a platform to share what it means to compete at the Division III level by responding to questions posed to participants.

Today, we will hear from Jadyn Baker, a first-year midfielder on the women's soccer team, as she shares her answers to the prompts below.

What's your favorite part about being a Division III student-athlete?

"Joining a team that becomes a family."

What's the toughest part about balancing your sport, academics, and social life, and how do you handle it?

"The toughest part is not letting the stress consume and overwhelm you. Times do get hard, and it's important to find ways to relieve that stress."

What values has Division III built into you?

"It has taught me how to work harder and push myself past my limits. It's taught me a lot about myself and has shown me I can accomplish greatness."

What made you choose the Division III path over other options?

"I wanted to have a life outside of soccer, and I knew Division III would give me a good balance of both."

How do you take pride in representing SUNY Plattsburgh?

"Making sure that I have a positive influence on the community and represent my team well even when I'm not at school."

What is one moment as a student-athlete at Plattsburgh State that you'll never forget?

"Scoring my first goal in the SUNYAC finals."

In three words, how would you describe your student-athlete experience?

"Social, Structured, Enjoyable"
