2024 Plattsburgh State Women's Volleyball Schedule

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's volleyball team looks to make the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) tournament for the second year in a row as the Cardinals play a 25-match schedule.

Plattsburgh State had a strong 2023 campaign, going 12-13 overall (3-6 SUNYAC) last season, earning a SUNYAC tournament appearance for the first time since 2013. The sixth-seeded Cardinals fell to the three-seeded Geneseo Knights 3-0 in the first round.

The Cardinals start the 2024 season hosting the Cardinal Classic with Potsdam, Plymouth State, and Saint Michaels participating.  The Classic opens up with Plattsburgh State matching up against Plymouth State on Friday, Aug. 30 at 4 p.m. followed by Potsdam and Plymouth State at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Aug 31, the Cardinals open up play against SUNY Potsdam at noon followed by Potsdam and Saint Michaels at 2 p.m., and concludes with the Cardinals back in action against Saint Michael's at 4 p.m.

After opening their season at home, the Cards head down to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on Saturday, Sept. 7, for the Skidmore Tournament, where they will match up against Skidmore College and Connecticut College. The team continues on the road with matches against Vermont State University (VTSU) Castleton and SUNY Delhi at the VTSU Castleton Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Plattsburgh State returns home for a matchup with Norwich on Tuesday, Sept. 17 before heading to Potsdam, N.Y. to play Clarkson on Friday, Sept. 20. The Cardinals finish the September portion of their season in a tournament at home against SUNY Poly and Anna Maria on Saturday, Sept. 21 before heading to the St. Lawrence Tournament the following Saturday, Sept. 28 to face St. Lawrence and RIT.

The Cardinals open their SUNYAC schedule at Fredonia on Friday, Oct. 4, and then travel to Buffalo State the next day on Saturday, Oct 5. Plattsburgh State returns home to host defending conference champion Cortland on Friday, Oct. 11, and then Morrisville on Saturday, Oct. 12.

The October schedule concludes with a five-game road slate, starting with a match against Canton on Friday, Oct. 18, and Oswego State on Saturday, Oct. 19. The following week the Cardinals wrap up their five-game road slate at Potsdam on Wednesday, Oct. 23 before playing two non-conference matches at the Smith Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Plattsburgh State wraps up their SUNYAC schedule when they host New Paltz on Friday, Nov. 1, and Oneonta on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Cardinals then close out their regular season with a home contest against Skidmore on Friday, Nov. 8.

The top six teams in the regular season conference standings will qualify for the SUNYAC Tournament, with the first round set for Nov. 12, the semifinals set for Nov. 15, and the championship set for Nov. 16. The top two seeds earn byes to the semifinals, while the bottom four seeds begin the tournament in the first round on Nov. 12.
