SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Plattsburgh State baseball pitcher
Kolby Mordecki (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) earned State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Pitcher of the Week honors for the week ending on March 17, as announced on Monday by the conference office. This is the first weekly honor of the year for the baseball program and the first pitcher of the week honor since
Chris Santic (Stony Point, N.Y./North Rockland) won last season in March.
Mordecki picked up his first win of the season on Saturday, as he helped the Cardinals to a 9-2 win over CCNY. The junior right-hander went five scoreless innings for Plattsburgh and allowed just three batters to reach base, all while striking out seven batters. The outing lowered his season ERA to 4.50, as he registered the longest scoreless outing of his career.
The Cardinals are currently 5-3 on the season and take on Penn State Berks at 3:30 p.m. today, Monday, March 18.
