ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team is set to compete at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships from Friday-Saturday, May 5-6, at SUNY Oneonta.
Led by second-year head coach
Andrew Krug, the Cardinals are looking to continue to move up the conference standings, as Plattsburgh State finished fifth out of nine teams at last year's meet.
Leading the way for Plattsburgh State is senior
Brexton Montville (Cadyville, N.Y./Saranac), who is the top seed in the 100-meter dash (10.70) and will look to defend his conference title in the event. Montville is also competing in the 200-meter dash (22.53). Sophomore
Noah Bonesteel (Averill Park, N.Y./Averill Park) holds the fifth-best time in the 1,500-meter run (3:59.12), first-year student
Charles Cypress (New Windsor, N.Y./Cornwall) is seeded seventh in the 200-meter dash (22.15) and 11th in the 100-meter dash (11.14), first-year student
Erik Kucera (Mount Sinai, N.Y./Mount Sinai) is seeded seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:01.35), junior
Michael Brockway (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) is ranked seventh in the 10,000-meter run (32:36.36) and first-year student
Thomas Gilbo (Champlain, N.Y./Northeastern Clinton) holds the eighth-best point total among those entered in the decathlon (4,715) to round out Plattsburgh State student-athletes seeded among the top eight.

Aidan Tous (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) in the shot put (13.06 meters) and the discus throw (39.52 meters), junior
Jorge Cabrera (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Mount Vernon) in the hammer throw (41.01 meters), junior
Logan Van Buren (Port Henry, N.Y./Moriah) in the 5,000-meter run (15:45.76), senior
Aidan Masten (Peru, N.Y./Seton Catholic) in the long jump (6.40 meters) and junior
Spencer Trudo (Champlain, N.Y./Northeastern Clinton) in the hammer throw (37.98 meters).
The first event on Friday—the 100-meter dash as a part of the men's decathlon—begins at 2 p.m.
