MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team posted five first-place finishes in a tri-meet with Middlebury College and Union College hosted at Middlebury's Allan Dragone Track and Field Complex on Saturday. The Cardinals finished second out of three teams with 80 points.
 
Junior Brexton Montville (Cadyville, N.Y./Saranac) won both the 100-meter dash (11.07) and the 200-meter dash (22.39), sophomore Cody Monnat (Croghan, N.Y./Beaver River) placed first in the 400-meter dash (51.16), junior Aidan Tous (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) took first in the shot put (12.22 meters – 40' 1.25") and the 4x800-meter relay team of sophomore Logan Van Buren (Port Henry, N.Y./Moriah), junior Liam Gildea (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) and first-year students Ethan Hodge (Scotia, N.Y./Scotia-Glenville) and Denali Rodriguez-Garnica (Port Henry, N.Y./Moriah) finished first with a time of 9:15.28.
 
Second-place finishes came from sophomore Michael Brockway (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) in the 5,000-meter run (16:16.52), the 4x100-meter relay squad of senior Michael Meddings (Massena, N.Y./Massena), junior Cameron Giuliano (Shokan, N.Y./Onteora), sophomore Levi Sochia (Norfolk, N.Y./Norwood-Norfolk) and junior Aidan Masten (Peru, N.Y./Seton Catholic) that charted a time of 47.31 and the 4x800-meter relay team of first-year student Noah Bonesteel (Averill Park, N.Y./Averill Park), sophomore Sean Grady (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Arlington) and first-year students Jordan Perna and Peter Basile (Castleton, N.Y./Maple Hill) that posted a time of 9:25.25, while sophomore Jorge Cabrera (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Mount Vernon) took third in the hammer throw (40.91 meters – 134' 3").
 
Plattsburgh State competes at the SLU Twilight Invite on Saturday, April 30, in its final tune-up before the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships
