                     BOSTON – Junior 
Brexton Montville (Cadyville, N.Y./Saranac) of the Plattsburgh State men's track and field team came within .01 seconds of the program record, as he charted a time of 22.28 in the 200-meter dash at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University on Saturday.
 
Montville placed 55th out of 206 runners, and his time met All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championship qualification.
 
Chris Verkey and Luke Potash share the program record of 22.27, with Verkey's time coming in 2000 and Potash's performance coming in 2015.
 
Plattsburgh State next competes at the SLU Open hosted by St. Lawrence University on Friday, Feb. 18, in its final tune-up before the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Indoor Championships.
