Men's Cross Country Places Seventh in White Division at Connecticut College Invitational in Final Race Before SUNYAC Championships

WATERFORD, Conn.
– The Plattsburgh State men's cross country team placed seventh out of 15 teams in the White Division at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, tallying a score of 152 points. The race served as the team's final tune-up before the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships.
 
Junior Michael Brockway (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) and sophomore Noah Bonesteel (Averill Park, N.Y./Averill Park) led the Cardinals on the eight-kilometer course by placing 16th (26:53.6) and 21st (27:08.4), respectively. Sophomore Justin Kumrow (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) finished 30th (27:24.0), while first-year students Erik Kucera (Mount Sinai, N.Y./Mount Sinai) and Ethan Kahl (Whitesboro, N.Y./Whitesboro) took 38th (27:44.4) and 50th (28:19.1), respectively. Junior Sean Grady (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Arlington) and sophomore Denali Rodriguez-Garnica (Port Henry, N.Y./Moriah) rounded out Plattsburgh State's top seven runners by placing 85th (30:01.9) and 87th (30:07.6), respectively.
 
Allegheny College topped the White Division team standings with 72 points, while Brandeis University's senior Matthew Driben crossed first in the White Division with a time of 25:25.4. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology prevailed in the Blue Division, while Williams College's senior Elias Lindgren posted the top time of 23:43.3 in the Blue Division.
 
Plattsburgh State now hones its focus toward the SUNYAC Championships hosted by Oswego State, which will occur on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Fallbrook Recreation Center.
