MEET RESULTS
BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Junior
Alex Hepburn (Corning, N.Y. / Corning-Painted Post) of the Plattsburgh State men's track and field team was presented with the SUNYAC Elite 20 award on Saturday at the conclusion of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) championship.
The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
The men's team finished seventh overall of nine teams.
The 4x400 relay of sophomore
Brenden Jung (Greenville, N.Y. / Minisink Valley), sophomore
Luke Groves (Slingerlands, N.Y. / Guilderland), sophomore
Andrew Horan (Albany, N.Y. / Guilderland) and senior
Brian Fabian (East Northport, N.Y. / Northport) took third in the event with a regional time of 3:21.89, which is their season best.
Fabian placed fourth in the 400-meters with a regional time of 49.63 seconds.
The 4x100-meter relay of senior
Luke Roderka (East Northport, N.Y. / Northport), freshman
Connor O'Neil (Dover Plains, N.Y. / Dover Union), freshman
Michael Meddings (Massena, N.Y. / Massena Central) and Fabian placed sixth with a time of 44.64 seconds.
The Cardinals will compete in the All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field Conference championship May 15-16 in Cortland, N.Y.
