MEET RESULTS
CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team sits in sixth of 41 teams after day one at the All-Atlantic Region Outdoor Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships hosted by SUNY Cortland on Wednesday at the White Stadium.
The 4x400-meter relay of junior
Elisabeth Plympton (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown), sophomore
Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac Central), junior
Taylor Canet (Peru, N.Y. / Peru) and junior
Marissa Jones (Sauquoit, N.Y. / Sauquoit Valley) broke their own school record with a time of 3:51.10 and placed second.
Their time ranks them tenth in NCAA Division III.
The old record of 3:52.94 was set on May 4, 2019 at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) championship meet.
Freshman
Victoria Whimple (Castleton, N.Y. / Maple Hill) won the triple jump with a mark of 11.91 meters (39' 1").
Freshman
Rebecca Block (Lake Grove, N.Y. / Sachem North) finished third in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a personal best of 11:48.88.
Freshman
Kristen Boerke (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) sits in fourth in the heptathlon after four events.
Boerke ran 16.01 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, 27.35 seconds in the 200-meters, threw 7.91 meters (25' 11.5") in shot put and jumped 1.53 meters (5' 0.25") in high jump. Her 200 time and shot put mark are personal bests.
Sophomore
Desirae Blair (Queens, N.Y. / Bayside) took 14th in javelin with a throw of 31.93 meters (104' 9") while junior
Brianna Coon (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) was 17th with a mark of 29.10 meters (95' 6").
The Cardinals will wrap up the AARTFC championship on Thursday starting at 10 a.m.
